Hungarian PM Offers Scholarship To Indonesians

Jakarta, InfoPublik - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban offered scholarship to Indonesian students to study in Hungary as part of cooperation in the field of education with Indonesia in a meeting with President Joko Widodo.
 
"I offer scholarship to Indonesian students to study in Hungary," Prime Minister Orban said in the bilateral meeting in Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (2/1).
 
As initial stage, Premier Orban agreed to provide 50 scholarships to Indonesian youths. According to him, the scholarship is expected to strengthen Indonesia-Hungary cooperation in the future.
 
Mr. Orban’s visit to Indonesia also generated two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) in the field of fisheries and aquaculture, as well as in the higher education exchange program. "We are a member of the EU who viewed Indonesia  as a member of the G-20 and a big country. We consider Indonesia as a continent, not a country. We see that Indonesia plays an important role," he said.
 
According to him, Indonesia is able to handle terrorist attacks and becomes stable quickly in only two to three hours after the incident. "This is a world record and shows that Indonesia is a stable country," he said.
 
He emphasized that currently Hungary is looking for a stable state partners. Therefore he believes that bilateral cooperation should be developed in the long term based on friendship, mutual understanding, and mutual benefit. (Translator: Siti Chodijah)
