Jakarta, InfoPublik - The government has assigned priority people to receive the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) vaccine at an early stage. First, for health workers (Nakes) at Referral Hospitals (RS) who provide care for Covid-19 patients.

Then, health workers who examine the Covid-19 specimen in the laboratory and health workers who carry out contact tracing to find new cases. Second, public services that provide discipline enforcement of health protocols, such as Satpol PP, TNI, and Polri.

"The intended public services also include employees who provide services to airport, station, and port service users," said the Health Ministry's Disease Prevention and Control Director Achmad Yurianto Monday (19/10/2020).

During media meetings in the online and offline "Covid-19 Vaccine Preparation Update in Indonesia", Yuri also conveyed that the number of health workers involved in handling Covid-19 was approximately two million people and would continue to be updated. And it does not rule out additional health workers at the hospital.

Yuri said that 9.1 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine intended for this group are free of charge, fully covered by the state budget. Also, the government is currently preparing a vaccination scheme with independent funding.

Furthermore, he explained that not all age groups receive Covid-19 vaccination. It refers to the phase three clinical trial conducted by Sinovac and CanSino that vaccination is only for the 18-59 year age group.

"We do not have clinical trials at ages 0-18 years, age 60 years and over, and people with severe comorbidities. But, that doesn't mean we ignore the group age that does not receive vaccines. We will continue to do research and development," said Yuri.
