Jakarta, InfoPublik –Stunting has become one of the issues addressed in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), targeting to reduce the rate to 19%, 1% below the rate set by the World Health Organization (WHO) which was 20%.

Health Minister Nila Moeloek said that in order to realize this plan, synergy and hard work from all parties, including central and regional governments and ministries/institutions. In addition, Health Minister also makes specific interventions in supporting the endeavors.

"In the first 1,000 days from conception, exclusive breastfeeding, nutritious food, to health infrastructures such as access to clean water and good sanitation," Minister Nila said at World Environmental Health Day 2019, Wednesday (2/10).

After 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding, babies are introduced to complimentary foods while continueing to breastfeed until they reach 2 years of age.. In addition, parents should also give stimulation based on the baby’s growth and development. Nila said that the first 1,000 days of life are important to to create excellent human resources.
