Hajj Pilgrim Candidates are Advised Not to Hide Illness

Jakarta, InfoPublik – To prepare for the departure of 2019 hajj pilgrims, Bengkulu Province Health Office in collaboration with Bengkulu City Health Office conducted health fitness test and medical examination for hajj pilgrim candidates of Bengkulu City.

Head of Bengkulu Province Health Office Herwan Antoni advised hajj pilgrim candidates not to hide their illnesses just to obtain permit for performing hajj pilgrimage. “In fact, early detection will give them the best chance for getting the right treatment from the doctors quickly prior to departure to the Holy Land,” said Herwan in the press release received by InfoPublik, Monday (26/3).

This event was participated in by 200 hajj pilgrim candidates from Bengkulu City on Saturday (23/3) at a hotel in Pantai Panjang Bengkulu. Through this fitness and health test, the pilgrims were expected to find potential health issues before they become a problem.

Therefore, they are able to prepare their health properly and are in good condition which in turn will give them ability to perform all processes of hajj pilgrims better.

This medical examination was supported by 30 medical personnel deployed from 5 Puskesmas (Community Health Centers) in Bengkulu City. They are Puskesmas Suka Merindu, Puskesmas Nusa Indah, Puskesmas Pasar Ikan, Puskesmas Lingkar Timur, and Puskesmas Jalan Gedang.

Bengkulu City Health Office Head, Susilawati, also advised the hajj pilgrims to start increasing physical activities six months prior to departure so they could prepare their health more properly to improve their physical abilities in the Holy Land.
