Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesia’s House of Representatives Legislative Body Public assessed that participation of various elements is essential in the process of formulating various Law products to ensure the Laws being made are accurate.

"Critics and inputs from various elements, especially academics are needed in the process of compiling the Problem Inventory List (DIM) and the Draft Bill (RUU)," said House of Representatives’ Head of Legislative Body Supratman Andi Agtas following the visit of Tadulako University’s students and academics, in Jakarta, Wednesday (21/11).

Each and every public aspiration will be heard and be considered by members of the House of Representatives in the process of policy making. Without it, the law being formulated can potentially be brought before the Constitutional Court (MK).

"This is a good tradition. We explained the law-making mechanism (to the student and academics delegation from Tadulako University), and we also received a lot of inputs from them,” he said.

Regarding the laws that have been formulated, he said, Legislative Body will conduct a series of public outreach aimed at obtaining public response to whether or not the laws answers their needs.

"We will continue to do the outreach in various regions. We will also involve higher education institutions in this program," he concluded.
