Jakarta, InfoPublik—Marine Affairs and Fisheries  Ministry’s (KKP) financial reports received an unqualified (WTP) opinion from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) for 2019. This is the first WTP opinion for Edhy Prabowo since leading the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry.

The audit report was delivered directly by BPK Board Member IV Isma Yatun to the Marine Affairs and Fishery Minister Edhy Prabowo at Mina Bahari III Building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (7/22/2020).

"I thank all KKP employees who have worked hard to improve the quality of accountable and transparent financial management. Thank you also to BPK for their guidance and direction," Minister Edhy said in his speech at the handover ceremony.

Minister Edhy also conveyed the Ministry’s target to keep its unqualified opinion next year through a verse of Indonesian pantun (rhyme).

To maintain the unqualified opinion, Minister Edhy asked his staff to continue to improve the quality of KKP's financial management and immediately follow up on the recommendations of BPK's audit findings.

Minister Edhy admitted that the Ministry was very open for corrections from the BPK. "If something is not right, we  will immediately correct it," he explained.

Meanwhile, Isma Yatun gave her appreciation because the Ministry  managed to maintain the unqualified opinion, after receiving the disclaimer opinion in 2016 and 2017.

"BPK gives unqualified opinion. This achievement will be a momentum to further encourage the creation of accountability, spending, inventory, and fixed assets," said Isma.

Isma hoped for technological innovation in managing the budget at the KKP, for future BPK will utilise more information technology, especially during the pandemic. (reporter: Baheramsyah, translator: Penni P. Rusman)
