MV Boudicca Cruise Ship from the Bahamas Visited Ambon Port

Jakarta, InfoPublik – Following the voyage of MV The World cruise ship with the GT (gross tonnage) of 43,188 that stopped by Biak Port in Papua on Friday (17/1), Transportation Ministry’s Directorate General for Sea Transportation once again specifically welcomed the arrival of a luxury cruise ship that transported foreign tourists from the Bahamas.

It was MV Boudicca cruise ship that has the capacity of 28,551 GT which docked at Yos Sudarso Port in Ambon on Sunday (19/1) at 07.00 WIT.

“Along with the Maluku Governor, the Deputy Mayor and other officials, we specifially welcome the arrival of MV Boudicca cruise ship led by Captain Mikael Per-Erik Degerlund at Yos Sudarso Port in Ambon. We also welcome all the crews and tourists to Maluku,” said Ambon First Class Port Authority (KSOP) Head Yefri Meidison in Ambon, on Monday (20/1).

Yefri said that MV Boudicca cruise ship docked at Ambon Yos Sudarso Port for 9 (nine) hours. “Before going to Indonesia, this ship docked at Wewak in the Papua New Guinea. After visiting Indonesia, it will continue the voyage to Singapore. In Indonesia, the ship is scheduled to visit Benoa, Bali,” he said.

He added that the cruise ship carried 374 ship crews and 553 passengers where most of the tourists will visit several tourism destinations in Ambon. The local government has also prepared the tourism locations in such a way that these places will give good impressions and messages to the foreign tourists.

MV Boudicca has the capacity of 1,300 people with the maximum passengers at 960 people and 340 ship crews. It has an overall length of 205 meters and moulded depth of 11 meters.

According to Yefri, the recent visits of several foreign cruise ships to Indonesia can demonstrate Indonesia’s readiness in tourism development sector, with one of them is by preparing ports that can be docked by large cruise ships.
