Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry Held Business Gathering, Strengthening Thailand Market

Jakarta, InfoPublik – Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry held a business gathering to serve as Indonesia’s tourism promotional event as well as an evaluation for various running programs, particularly for Thailand market.

In the official release received by InfoPublik on Sunday (8/12), the event was held on 4 December 2019 at Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. It was held in cooperation with Visit Indonesia Tourism Officer (VITO) Bangkok and Indochina as well the Indonesian Embassy in Thailand.

The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry's Marketing Development Deputy for Region I, Rizky Handayani, said that this event disseminated various information on Indonesia’s tourism destination, including the plan for Indonesia’s tourism promotion that will be executed in 2020.

“We are optimistic that the Business Gathering will bring positive economic impact for Indonesia’s tourism,” said Rizki Handayani.

The first discussion session explained VITO’s position and various promotional activities conducted by the Ministry as well as Indonesia’s tourism global profile.

The second session presented Calendar of Event Indonesia 2020. However, the attractions had been adjusted to the Thailand market’s interest.

Furthermore, there was a presentation relating 5 Super Priority Destinations. Various uniqueness and characteristics of every destination are explained in detail. There was also explanation for the advantage of accessibility and position of the amenities.

The third session featured trivial game relating the 5 Super Priority Destinations.

“We use this event to disseminate comprehensive information relating tourism destinations. Of course, the main point was the 5 Super Priority Destinations, said Rizki.

The Business Gathering was participated in by 29 participants, consisting of 20 TA/TO, 3 Airlines (Garuda Indonesia, Thai Airways, Thai AirAsia), and 1 Tourism Association in Thailand. The Business Gathering also involved 5 local media.

Rizki said that Business Gathering participants have a vital role to the Thailand tourists’ movement to Indonesia.

“The Business Gathering participants were very diverse. Their positions are truly important because they have direct contact to Thailand’s internal market. Therefore, intensive coordination must be performed. In addition, there are various new strategies that will be implemented to optimize Thailand market,” said Rizki.

The event also featured music performance of Sasando, a music instrument from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), played by Bertolens Aogus. Minati Devina, a musician, also participated in the event with her violin.

“We are very happy because Business Gathering was held successfully. The participants’ response was also amazing. They were enthusiastic in discussing various matters related to tourism product marketing of Indonesia. We also received very positive inputs,” said the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry's Marketing Development Assistant Deputy for Region I, Dessy Ruhati.
