Jakarta, InfoPublik - Garuda Indonesia airlines officially served Jakarta - Nagoya round-trip flight routes starting Saturday (23/3).

This direct flight used Airbus 330 aircraft with a capacity of 222 seats (36 business class seats and 186 economy class seats) with four flights a week schedule (Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

Garuda Indonesia President Director Ari Ashkara said, the Jakarta - Nagoya flight is a form of support for government’s program in increasing investment in the manufacturing industry as a program to accelerate national economic growth and increase tourism potential in Indonesia, targeting 20 million foreign tourists this year.

"Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture is known as the fourth largest city in Japan and one of the busiest industrial and manufacturing cities in Japan, making it a potential market share for Garuda Indonesia," said Ari Askhara.

Furthermore, Ari explained, the number of visits of businessmen and foreign tourists from Japan to Indonesia also continued to show significant improvement, especially to a number of major tourist destinations in Indonesia, one of which is Jakarta as the largest economic center in Indonesia.

"We hope that the opening of these flight routes will further accelerate investment growth between Indonesia and Japan, considering that Japan is currently the country with the second largest investment value in Indonesia," Ari said.

In order to introduce the latest Jakarta-Nagoya route services, Garuda Indonesia also presented a variety of value-added services, bringing a selection of NINJAGO character Lego packs on board and special offerings from Anomali Coffee, such as Hot Chocolate, Matcha Latte and Toraja Coffee. The special offer is valid for 1 week since the inauguration of the Jakarta - Nagoya round-trip route.

Garuda Indonesia's flight route to Japan has been carried out since the past 57 years, with the Jakarta-Tokyo route established on 13 March 1962. The flow of passengers and cargo from Indonesia to Japan and vice versa has continued to increase since 1980, along with the progress of economic and trade relations between the two countries.

"The historical value between Indonesia and Japan has made Japan’s domestic passenger market to this day a potential market for Garuda Indonesia," said Ari.

The Jakarta-Nagoya flight will depart with GA 884 at 10:35 p.m., and arrive at Chubu Centrair International Airport the next day at 7:25 a.m. While the flight from Chubu Centrair International Airport will depart at 10:00 a.m. and arrive at Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 3:00 p.m. WIB.
