Jakarta, InfoPublik - Commission VI of the House of Representatives invited the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) and the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) to give advice regarding electronically integrated business licensing services or better known as the Online Single Submission (OSS) system.

"Commission VI wants to get specific advice on the licensing services," said Commission VI chair Teguh Juwarno at the Parliament Building, Jakarta, Monday (8/20).

President Joko Widodo issued Presidential Regulation No. 24 Year 2018 on Electronically Integrated Business Licensing. The government is obliged to ensure it gives a positive impact on the community’s economic growth or vice versa. On that basis, the two organizations which have important roles in the Indonesian economy were invited.

"We want to hear the impact of the OSS system on business people," he said.

Responding to this matter, Kadin chairman Rosan Roeslani said that the government’s OSS system was a good policy. Completing cross-agency licensing processes in one application is a remarkable innovation.

"The electronic integration represents a crucial breakthrough in improving the licensing bureaucracy," he added.

However, he acknowledged that business people were still adjusting to access this system since there was a responsibility handover from the Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) to the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. Thus, any related institutions need to promptly disseminate the matter.

"I hope it can be conveyed to investors in three months to provide certainty," he concluded. (Reporter: Tri Antoro, Translator: Erik Limantara)
